Pomegranate during pregnancy?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and have been eating a good amount of fruit everyday. But now with the change of weather in my country, the variety of fruits has changed. I have recently asked my dietician and added pomegranate to my diet. I eat almost one pomegranate everyday.

However i recently read on the internet that pomegranate was used as a contraceptive and may not be safe. I am worried now. Any suggestions please.

Pomegranate during pregnancy?
Everything in moderation.

Pomegranate has benefits during pregnancy also. If you're worried, eat it less frequently or eat less at a time. But there is no reason to avoid it altogether.

However, to the person that suggested papayas, unripe papayas can cause uterine contractions. Unless you can be 100% certain that the papaya you eat is completely ripe, do not eat it (unless you're near or past your due date).
Reply:if you're afraid of pomegranate harming your baby, change to other fruits. papayas, apples, prunes and dates. they are easy to find. especially dates. this wonder fruit contains high nutriens and vitamins and zink and iron that much needed for the baby's growth.

Experiments have also shown that dates contain some stimulants that strengthen the muscles of the uterus in the last months of pregnancy. This helps the dilation of the uterus at the time of delivery on one hand and reduces the bleeding after delivery on the other. Dieticians consider dates as the best food for women in confinement and those who are breast-feeding. This is because dates contain elements that assist in alleviating depression in mothers and enriching the breast-milk with all the elements needed to make the child healthy and resistant to disease.
Reply:I am eating it as well, and I have no side effects. My little one is extremely healthy.

I would not worry too much, do not believe everything you read.

I have read a lot during this pregnancy and I have found that every pregnancy is unique and we should not get obsessive or paranoid over everything.
Reply:Pomegranate like Green Tea is very high in antioxidants and there for can cause your body to not be able to absorb the folic acid that the baby needs so my OBGYN told me to avoid both of those things while pregnant.
Reply:ohh. i didnt know this. i have been drinking pomegranate juice all the time, i thought antioxidents were good for you. i'm glad you posted this, now i know better.
