Pomegranate?

Does anyone some things I can do with a pomegranate besides make juice? I'd greatly appreciate any recipes you've personally tried or heard of from a friend (I'm not really looking for random stuff you found on the web)... I'm thinking of using the juice to flavor some vodka and that's all I've come up with on my own so far. Are they good for baking or meat dishes? Thanks for your time~

Pomegranate?
Pomegranate is the flavoring for real Grenadine syrup used in some cocktails. You can find recipes on the web. Use it in Shirley Temples and Roy Rogers for the kids. Pour it over ice cream.

The juice can be made into an excellent jelly. Purchase a package of powdered pectin at your local supermarket and follow the recipe in the package. Use the jelly in thumbprint cookies, jelly filled doughnuts and danish pastry.

It makes a attractive and tasty champagne punch. I liter each champagne and lemon/lime soda and 1 pint juice.

Make a glaze in the same manner as orange glaze and baste it on baked ham. I've never tried it on fresh pork or on chicken but it would probably be good. I don't think it would do well w/ beef.

Substitute the pomegranate for the raspberry in raspberry-vinaigrette. My teenage granddaughter loves this on fruit-n-greens salads.

It perks up bland juices such as apple juice and white grape juice. Blend to taste.

Reply:Pomegranate seeds are very pretty when sprinkled over the top of the punch in a punch bowl.

The option to eat or discard the seeds is yours. (I don't). But you can if you want to.
