Can a pomegranate seed kill you?

i think it's a myth, but i heard if you eat a pomegranate seed, and swallow it whole, it will rupture in your stomach, and you will die.





any truth to this?

However, people may be getting this from the story in classic mythology where Persephone (daughter of Ceres, the goddess of agriculture) eats pomegranate seeds and has to spend six months in Hades. Keep in mind, though, that this story is meant as an explanation for why we have winter, not a warning about eating pomegranate seeds...
