Do the following verses tell you anything about God's view of marriage? If so... what??

Ephesians 5:31-33

"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh." This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the church. However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Song of Solomon 7:10-13

I belong to my lover, and his desire is for me. Come, my lover, let us go to the countryside, let us spend the night in the villages. Let us go early to the vineyards to see if the vines have budded, if their blossoms have opened, and if the pomegranates are in bloom - there I will give you my love. The mandrakes send out their fragrance, and at our door is every delicacy, both new and old, that I have stored up for you, my lover.

Ephesians 5:22-23

Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.

Its easy..one flesh means they create a being that is one flesh of both parents.....smile
Reply:Yes, both a man and wife should love and honor one another.

Peace, Love, and Blessings

Reply:To respect and love and to be passionate as the letters of Solomon so clearly show.
Reply:We are united in marriage. The two become one,not only in love but in the genetics when they have kids. Two parents ,one kid both genes.

Eve was taken out of Adam's side ,not his head to rule over him ,not his feet to be stepped on,but his side to be his loving partner.(Thanks to J.Vernon McGee for that one)

-THis means When you marry...the husband and wife come together, and his body is not only owned by him and God, its now owened by the wife, same for the husband. honor your wife, and wives respect husband. -

-This is the sexual/romance between marriage couple.-

-Husbands are suppose to be the head...and make things Godly. Put God first. Hes suppose to be the one praying, taking wife to church. We are to submit to that, and respect that-
Reply:i wonder how long solomon had been storing up those delicacies?

two shall become one: buddhists already know that we are all one
Reply:They tell about what men thought about marrige, not what god thought about it.

And the song of solomon verse you quote says lover not husband or wife.
Reply:Yes a marriage is suppose to be between a man and woman God makes it perfectly clear. And when you say I do it isn't ment ot be taken lightly. You are to honor and respect your partner and keep your selfs only to one another. Please know in your heart it is Gods way. It is ok to say what you think and disscuss things together but in the end what ever the husband decides is how it should be. God give us a mind to use and he doesn't want us to use it to do bad only good. Hope this helps. In Christ Love

Reply:Godly marriage is a picture of Christ's (God's) love for the Church. So even in our vocation as wife or husband, we declare God's grace to the world.
